Automotive Dealer Day: results of the 22nd edition of the DealerSTAT study

The 2025 results of the DealerSTAT study were previewed during the session entitledThe Strategic Role of Dealers in Europe’s Evolving Market: Stronger Together?held at Automotive Dealer Day (Verona, 13-14-15 May 2025).

Conducted by Quintegia, the DealerSTAT Study is an annual survey of dealer satisfaction with manufacturers, aimed at Italian dealership owners. The survey was conducted between 10 March and 15 April, involving 32 brands and 62% of Italian dealers, with a total of 1,277 questionnaires collected.

BMW is the manufacturer with
the highest dealer satisfaction rating in Italy

BMW wins the award for No. 1 Brand in Dealer Satisfaction from DealerSTAT. The award was accepted by Massimiliano Di Silvestre, President and CEO of BMW Italy.

‘With our network, we have built a high-level relationship based on a professional partnership and characterised by a distinctive human touch,’ commented Massimiliano Di Silvestre. ‘It is a perfect integration with the BMW Italy team, united by a shared ambition: continuous improvement.’

BMW won the award with a score of 4.25 (on a scale of 1 to 5) compared to the Italian average of 3.29. Two volume brands complete the podium: Toyota and Dacia.

The survey aims to gather evaluations across various business areas through more than 60 questions. The German manufacturer also came out on top in management, customer experience, used business and business sales. The aspect most appreciated by BMW dealers is the quality of their relationship with the brand.

BYD is the most sought-after brand among dealers among new brands

BYD wins the award for the most desirable franchise among new brands according to dealers for the second year in a row. The award was accepted by Alessandro Grosso, Country Manager of BYD Italy.

‘Being recognised as the most desired brand by Italian dealers in 2025 is an extraordinary achievement, marking a historic moment for BYD in Italy,’ commented Alessandro Grosso. ‘In less than a year, we have gained the trust of the market with an innovative, sustainable proposal that is already leading the way in change. This award is not just a milestone, but a leap forward into the future: BYD is ready to redefine the Italian and European automotive landscape.’

Dealers were asked which new brand entering Italy they would choose to add to their portfolio. 49% of dealers expressed interest in adding a new emerging brand, up 13 percentage points compared to 2024.
The only two brands that exceeded the 5% preference threshold were BYD and Omoda-Jaecoo.

FORD PRO is the brand with the highest level of satisfaction
among light commercial vehicle dealers in Italy.

Ford Pro wins Brand Award no. 1 in Commercial Vehicle Dealer Satisfaction, as was already the case in 2024, in 2023 and in the five-year period 2015-2019. The award was accepted by Marco Buraglio, Commercial Vehicles Director at Ford Italy.

As regards the LCV category, the survey (conducted between 10 March and 15 April) involved 11 brands and 61% of Italian dealers, who responded by completing 417 survey. Ford Pro won the award with a score of 3.92 (on a scale of 1 to 5), compared to the Italian average of 3.10.
Mercedes-Benz and Toyota took second and third place on the podium

The survey, consisting of over 50 questions, monitors the satisfaction of light commercial vehicle dealers in key areas of activity. Ford Pro ranked first in 10 of the 15 areas analysed, including profitability, product, sales and after-sales management, customer relations and spare parts service. The aspect most appreciated by Ford Pro dealers is the alignment between the product and customer expectations.
