Findings from the 2026 European Automotive Retailer Satisfaction Study unveiled at Automotive Dealer Day
Toyota has been ranked the automotive brand with the highest dealer satisfaction across Europe’s five largest markets, according to the second edition of the European Automotive Retailer Satisfaction study.
The international initiative, developed by Quintegia, evaluates the relationship between vehicle manufacturers and their dealer networks in Italy, France, Germany, Spain and the United Kingdom.
With an overall score of 3.99 out of 5, Toyota secured first place in the ranking, ahead of Dacia and BMW. Mercedes-Benz and Renault completed the Top 5.
The award was presented to Alberto Santilli, CEO of Toyota Motor Italia, during Automotive Dealer Day.
“We are extremely proud to receive this prestigious European recognition for the second consecutive year,” said Santilli. “For Toyota Italy, the achievement is particularly meaningful, as the strong support and positive feedback from our Italian dealer network played a key role in this result.
At Toyota, we continue to place our retail partners at the heart of our strategy. We firmly believe that long-term success can only be achieved through strong and lasting collaboration with the entrepreneurs who represent our brand in local markets. Together, we can continue to reach new milestones and further strengthen customer trust.
This recognition also reflects the quality and reliability of our product line-up, as well as the relevance of our multi-pathway approach to mobility, which provides customers with practical and reassuring solutions in a rapidly evolving automotive landscape.”
The European Automotive Retailer Satisfaction project was created by bringing together leading organisations across Europe that measure dealer satisfaction and manufacturer–dealer relationships. Coordinated by Quintegia, the initiative combines unique market insights from partner organisations including Mobilians (France), Institut für Automobilwirtschaft (Germany), Faconauto (Spain) and the NFDA (United Kingdom).
By harmonising the data collected across these markets and standardising the different evaluation methodologies, Quintegia developed a consolidated European ranking. Toyota’s leading position was driven in particular by its outstanding performance in Italy and France.
The study analysed dealer feedback gathered throughout 2025 (with fieldwork periods varying by country) across 22 passenger car brands. More than 50 performance indicators were assessed for each brand in every market, resulting in a dataset of over 5,500 completed dealer surveys.
