Sustainability in the Dealership: Interview with M.Car

As part of the RESET initiative promoted by Quintegia in collaboration with Findomestic Banca, we are collecting some testimonials from dealers regarding environmental, social, and governance sustainability with the aim of encouraging a virtuous exchange of ideas and creating a circuit for sharing best practices.
We interviewed M.Car, a dealership with thirty years of experience, present with three locations in the Campania region, which has distinguished itself for its strong focus on the surrounding community and sustainability. Let’s see what they have to say.

What does sustainability mean to M. Car?

Sustainability means adopting a behavior and mindset that can meet current needs and ensure a better future for our children.

As a company, you have made various choices for environmental sustainability both within your premises and towards the territory. Can you tell us how?

Our facilities have always been oriented towards environmental respect and sustainability. The most recent location in Naples was entirely built with eco-friendly materials. Furthermore, all our locations are powered by photovoltaic panels that recycle and circulate any excess energy produced without wastage.

Over the past year, you have supported local communities with various initiatives to promote social inclusion and help local realities. Could you tell us about these?

For several years now, the choice to support local communities has become an act of civic conscience that has led us to shift our communication focus more towards values. We have supported entities such as the Teatro San Carlo, giving the right importance to the potential of the territory and associating the BMW brand with the world’s oldest theater.
We have become a part of the Neapolitan fabric, warmly welcomed and supporting artisans from San Gregorio Armeno during the Christmas period, a category affected by COVID but not supported by the State.
Regarding the city context, we have adopted and maintained some public green areas in Campania, such as the gardens of the Reggia di Caserta, Piazza Vanvitelli in Caserta, and Via Marina in Naples, trying to set an example for other companies in the Campania region and encouraging private investments in public spaces. We are aware that only by taking care of it can we support and enhance the territory.

Welfare is becoming increasingly important in a company’s HR policies. Are you developing any initiatives or projects in this area?

Our company aims to grow together with its employees and therefore constantly invests in human resources training, creating a transparent and safe environment that supports teamwork, encouraging participatory and corporate awareness. Each employee, in line with their profile, follows a tailor-made training path aimed at increasing their cultural and cognitive baggage, not only limited to the corporate sphere but also at an individual level. The individual is at the center of everything.

Do you have any other considerations or projects you would like to share that you haven’t discussed in the previous questions?

For years, we have been collaborating with universities in our region to facilitate the integration of young people into the company, reducing the traditional gap between the world of education and the world of work as much as possible.
We try to build our company with resources ready to grow; today’s young people must have the opportunity to get involved in well-defined and stimulating projects.
